Without the luxury of body, language or facial expressions, the way you modulate your voice and tone over the telephone, is largely responsible for the future success of the current communication. Due to the fact that most of us can become overworked and overwhelmed, we often pick up the telephone without thinking, and thereby destroy any good that could come from this conversation.

Today’s episode will serve as a reminder of the importance of handling incoming calls in an upbeat, interested, and professional fashion each and every single time the phone rings. (there’s also Halls true for outgoing calls.)

I don’t mean to sound like I’m insulting you or talking down to you, but I do feel that most people can improve upon their telephone skills, thereby improving their chances for success. Here goes. You decide if the shoe fits.
